The Nature Conservancy Daily Nature Photo - Submit your nature photos to help inspire others to protect our natural world.

Weekly

Birder's World Photo of the Week - A new photo is chosen every Monday, and every other month a professional bird photographer picks the best Photo of the Week over the previous two months. The winner receives a free one-year subscription to the magazine, plus the photo will be published in the magazine.

Monthly

BetterPhoto.com Photography Contest - Open only to BetterPhoto students and BetterPholio subscribers. Categories include Nature & Landscapes, Animals & Wildlife, People, Elements of Design, Digital Darkroom, Travel Photography & Place, Flowers, Details & Macro. There is also a Catch-All and Monthly Theme; the theme for March is "Showing Motion." All first-place winners will receive a $25 BetterPhoto Gift Card. Grand Prize is a Deluxe BetterPholio™ website. Deadline: March 31, 2013.

Florida State Parks and State Trails 2013 Photo Contest - Register and submit your favorite Florida State Park photo for a chance to win a Florida State Parks Passport (monthly winners). The 12 winners of the monthly contests will be entered in the Annual Contest. The Annual Contest First Place winner will receive a Family Annual Entrance Pass. Second and Third Place winners will receive an Individual Annual Entrance Pass. Entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on the 20th day of the month to be included in the next month's contest. NEW

Hallmark Card Contests - Although not necessarily a traditional photo contest, there is a chance to win a prize of $250 - $500 for your photo and short text if you can create a winning greeting card for the current contest theme.The current contest is "Celebrate Her." Enter March 4-24.

Porter's/Tamron 2013 Calendar Photo Contest - Enter your best shots in the monthly themes for a chance to win a Tamron 18-270 PZD lens, plus your photo will appear in the 2013 downloadable calendar. Contest themes are March: Moon and Stars, the Heavens; April: Rain Showers (during and after); May: Reflections; June: Wedding Views (scenes from a wedding); July: Life's a Beach (photos of sand and surf); August: Pet Portrait; September: Insects; October: Wildlife; November: Frost; December: Glamour (no boudoir photos, please).

Black & White Magazine 2014 Single Image Photo Contest - More than 210 images will be chosen in 15 categories. Each will have a full-page display in a special issue of Black & White magazine. Deadline: June 30, 2013.

2013 Nikon Small World Photo Contest (Photography through Microscope) - Digital or film photography through a microscope. Photomicrographs must be taken using a light microscope, such as one of the Nikon series of compound or stereoscopic microscopes. The use of Nikon equipment is not required. Entries judged on originality, informational content, technical proficiency, and visual impact. Deadline: April 30, 2013.

Outdoor Photographer American Landscape 2013 Photo Contest - Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia, 18 years and older. There is a $10 per photo entry fee. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Prize Winners, plus 25 Finalists. The total value of all prizes is $6,586. Deadline: April 4, 2013.

2013 Shaker Workshop Photography Contest - Open to all photographers, amateur or professional. Purpose: To illustrate the best aspects of Shaker design and to demonstrate the successful use of Shaker furniture and accessories in everyday life. Categories are Interior Shots and Exterior Shots. First Place winner receives a $100 Shaker Workshops Gift Certificate, plus winning photo will appear on the Shaker Workshops catalog. Deadline: June 15, 2013.

Smithsonian.com 11th Annual Photo Contest - Enter photos in any of five categories for a chance to win $6,000 in prizes: Altered Images, the American Experience, the Natural World, People, and Travel. Also highlighting the best photos taken with mobile devices. Deadline: 2 PM Nov. 29, 2013.

2013 Sony World Photography Awards - Several photography contests, including Open Competition, Professional Competition, Youth Award (Deadline: April 1, 2013), 3D Award , and Student Focus Award. Deadline: Various months in 2013.
